Ease of Operation

Ease of operation was extremely important in the design of the new TL642. The single joystick allows three boom functions to operate simultaneously. A separate control lever operates the auxiliary hydraulic functions and has an option for work tools requiring more than one hydraulic power source.

Joystick Control

The joystick allows three simultaneous boom functions enabling application customization for more than a dozen configurations. The joystick also operates the auxiliary hydraulic function and allows the option of a second auxiliary service for the use of work tools that require more than one hydraulic service.

Flow Sharing

Three simultaneous hydraulic functions are achieved by:

• A load sensing variable displacement pump delivering flow on demand and ensuring that only the flow rate required is delivered, thus reducing fuel consumption and reducing heat generation.
• The post spool pressure compensating on the main implement valve ensures three function flow sharing even when valve demand exceeds pump output. Flow sharing is achieved regardless of loading on each circuit, making smooth boom movements easy even for inexperienced operators.

Performance

The TL642 with outriggers in the down position offers additional capacity at maximum reach. This machine combines productivity, maneuverability and responsiveness to deliver smooth and stable performance on the job site.

Lift Height

The TL642 can pick and place bricks and materials to a maximum height of 42 ft. (12.8 m).

Steering Modes

The TL642 offers three steering modes (two wheel, crab and 4-wheel steer) to allow an operator to more easily position the machine. Steering modes are selected by a single three-position rocker switch. When changing steering modes, steering position sensors find the position of the wheel and automatically find the center position when realigning.

The TL642 is a rugged, reliable, and durable telehandler. With its Cat 3054C DIT, Tier 2 engine, you can depend on the TL642 to keep your job on schedule.

Transmission

The TL642 features a ZF, WG98-TSC Power-shift 4 speed forward, 3 speed reverse transmission. Its hydro-dynamic torque converter is wear free and infinitely variable power to match road conditions. The transmission shares hydraulic oil with the work tool hydraulics, reducing the number of filters required.

Versatility

The TL642 is a very versatile machine with its optional hydraulic IT coupler and extensive range of work tools.

Quick Coupler

A manual IT coupler is standard on the TL-Series machines. For optimum versatility, all machines are equipped with the hydraulic quick coupler, allowing the operator to more easily change non-hydraulic work tools without leaving the cab.

Hydraulic Services

Machines are equipped with auxiliary hydraulic services, allowing the use of hydraulically operated work tools. Every TL-Series machine is equipped with a single auxiliary hydraulic supply and a continuous flow switch. A second auxiliary hydraulic supply can be added to the machine.
