With a fleet of over 50 field service vehicles and 10 facilities, and over 200 trained service personnel, we offer the most complete line of product support for your Caterpillar equipment. Thompson Machinery’s goal is to develop a product support strategy with the customer to optimize the performance of their equipment and lower operating costs. By offering a complete line of services ranging from total machine rebuilds to changing oil, Thompson Machinery’s service organization is committed to your success and profitable bottom line.

Shop Service

Extensive equipment repairs may require the utilization of one of our 10 branch facilities. We have dedicated resources for all types of services and repairs involving engines, transmissions, other power train-related components, undercarriage, hydraulics, fabrication, painting and fluid analysis.

Field Service

Thompson maintains a fleet of over 50 fully equipped field service vehicles. Our field service technicians have laptop computers with the latest Caterpillar diagnostic programs. With these capabilities, our service technicians and vehicles can be dispatched to your job site to complete needed repairs quickly.

Hydraulics

Our hydraulic cylinder shops can recondition all types of hydraulic cylinders - including cylinder honing, re-rodding, and re-tubing. We also provide complete services for hydraulic pumps, motors, and valves.

Hydraulic Hose Service

Thompson’s hose fabrication shops can meet all your air and fluid hose requirements for Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar equipment. We can make hose assemblies to spec while you wait – or call ahead, and in most cases, your order will be ready when you arrive.

Machine Shop

Our fully equipped machine shops allow us to repair or salvage many expensive parts. Thompson can handle engine and line reboring jobs as well as engine cylinder reconditioning. Our tooling and experience can handle a wide range of machining needs.

Welding & Fabrication

Our fabrication and welding shops are prepared to work with your prints and templates, or from our specifications, to repair and salvage your old piece, or fabricate a new replacement. We specialize in bucket rebuilds, capable of blade rebuilds, and attachment fabrication. Thompson Machinery also has custom fabrication capabilities.

Equipment Rebuilds

Extend the life of your Caterpillar equipment. Thompson Machinery offers Caterpillar Certified Rebuilds or Certified Power Train Rebuilds. When most competitive models would require replacement, Cat equipment can be rebuilt to deliver a cost-effective “second life.”

SOS Fluid Analysis

SOS Service is one of the most useful and important maintenance support programs available. Using the SOS Oil and Coolant Analysis, you can pinpoint trouble early and avoid shut-downs for unplanned repairs or catastrophic failures.

Preventive Maintenance

Thompson Machinery has a group of technicians, personnel and service vehicles dedicated to servicing and maintaining customers’ equipment. If you need help with properly changing oil and servicing your machine, contact Thompson’s Preventive Maintenance team.
